SSC CGL 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Not everyone can appear in the SSC CGL Exam, as the commission has set parameters for minimum eligibility criteria, including educational qualifications, age limit, and nationality. As per this year’s notification, the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria are as follows-
Education Qualification (as on 01/08/2025)
- For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)- Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised University with a minimum 60% in Mathematics in Class 12th
or in any discipline with Statistics as one of the subjects in graduation. - For Statistical Investigator Grade-II- Graduation Degree from any recognised University with Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics as a compulsory or Elective Subject.
- For Research Assistant in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute with a minimum of one year of research experience in any recognized university or recognized Research Institution.
- For remaining posts- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University.
New Changes for SSC CGL 2025 Exam
- SSC has implemented Aadhaar-based biometric authentication for all its recruitment exams, including SSC CGL 2025. This policy aims to enhance identity verification and reduce fraudulent practices like impersonation during the exam process.
- Candidates can voluntarily use Aadhaar authentication at three stages: online registration, application submission, and at the exam centre during the test. This involves biometric verification (e.g., fingerprint or facial recognition) linked to the candidate’s Aadhaar number.
- SSC upgraded its ‘mySSC app’ to allow candidates to apply for exams, including SSC CGL 2025, directly through the app.
- Two new posts, “Section Head” and “Office Superintendent” were added this year.

SSC CGL 2025 Online Form
The registration process for the SSC CGL 2025 exam was conducted in online mode only at the official website of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). All eligible candidates have done with SSC One-Time Registration OTR and filled the SSC CGL online application form by visiting the official website www.ssc.gov.in till 4th July 2025.
SSC CGL Application Fee 2025
The candidates have to pay Rs. 100/- while submitting their SSC CGL Application Form online at www.ssc.gov.in. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM are eligible for reservation and are exempted from the application fee payment. The application fee has to be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards only.
SSC CGL 2025 Selection Process
SSC conducts a two-tier SSC CGL selection process to shortlist candidates for various Group B and C posts under the SSC CGL 2025.
Stage 1 Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Qualifying in nature).
Stage 2 Tier-II: Paper I (Compulsory for all posts), Paper-II for candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

The Staff Selection Commission of India has released the SSC CGL detailed notification PDF announcing 14582 vacancies for various Group B and C posts. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2025
SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam will be conducted online, comprising 4 sections with 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in total and with a maximum of 200 marks. The entire exam needs to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be of a qualifying nature and marks will not be counted in the final selection.
